Illness Policy
At Little Stars Academy Preschool, the health and well-being of our children and staff are important to us. Children who are ill may need to remain at home until they meet the school’s current return-to-care requirements. Please review the guidelines below and contact Little Stars Academy if you are unsure whether your child should attend.
When Your Child Should Stay Home
Please keep your child at home when they are ill, unable to participate comfortably in regular preschool activities or meet the exclusion criteria in Little Stars Academy’s current illness policy. If you are unsure whether your child should attend, please contact the school before arrival.
Illness and return-to-preschool requirements may vary depending on the child’s symptoms, diagnosis and individual circumstances.
If Your Child Becomes Ill at School
If a child develops symptoms during the school day that meet our exclusion criteria, a parent or authorized guardian may be contacted and asked to pick up the child.
Please make sure your emergency contact information is current and that arrangements can be made for timely pick-up when the school contacts you.
Returning to Preschool
Return-to-preschool requirements depend on the child’s symptoms, diagnosis and the school’s current health policy. Some situations may require additional guidance or clearance.
Please contact Little Stars Academy before your child returns if you need clarification. For medical advice specific to your child, contact your healthcare provider.
Communicable Illnesses
If your child has been diagnosed with or exposed to a communicable illness, please notify Little Stars Academy as soon as possible.
Attendance and return requirements will be determined according to the school’s current health policy. Families should contact their healthcare provider for medical advice specific to their child.
